About Us

Let’s Introduce Ourselves

The North Bristol Wellbeing Choir was established in 2006 and were based in Lockleaze for about 18 months, then moving to Eden Grove and then onto The Greenway Centre in Southmead, along the way we have gained  members from across Bristol.

We are a fun and inclusive group and we sing for the health of it! We sing a range of music from folk to pop, gospel to jazz – in unisons and in harmony and we learn our songs by ear. No experience is required and you do not need to be able to read music. If you find you cannot attend each week it does not matter just come when you can. Can’t promise you a slot at the Royal Albert Hall but can promise you a good fun evening. We hand out the lyric sheets as we go along but they are available on our website to print off. We meet Wednesday evenings (term time) at The Greenway Centre between 7 and 845 p.m.

We are led by vocalist Katya Gorrie and accompanied by pianist Ian Towers. We do have a small committee of volunteers from members of the choir if you would like more information please ask

Since forming we have performed at many locations around Bristol, some being:

Opening of the new Colston Hall Building

The Southmead Festival

Kings Weston House

St Teresa’s Church Ladies Monthly Group

Southmead Community Centre

Bristol international Jazz Festival at The Colston Hall

We are a self funding group so we do ask for a donation of £3.00 per week to help cover our running costs which at the moment stand at over £6500.00 per year. Your support is appreciated
